    Saginissim , Oct 16, 2019 :
Hey, I have a problemwith the android 9 update, for some reason when I'm downloading the latest update it just start the installation but then stop (in about 20%) and write installation failed. I saw in some forums that it is probably related to the oem unlock, but I cannot connect my op3t to the pc since it not recognized it at all (I basically tried EVERYTHING)!

does anybody knows a way I can update my phone?
    Thanks

I tried it from recovery, as well as from the local updates, same "installation failed" message and an option to reboot the device.

What version of OOS are you currently running?

Yes, it didn't help either. Isn't factor reset suppose to relock oem?

No a factory reset will not relock the bootloader. You need to use fastboot via a PC/terminal prompt window using the "fastboot oem lock" command.

Though this issue isn't likely related to having the bootloader unlocked.

I updated my 3T from OOS 5.0.8 > OOS 9.0.3/9.0.5 having an unlocked bootloader without any such issues.

How are you sure? The updating failure likely isn't at all related to the bootloaders locked/unlocked state.
Something within your system partition is likely not complete stock, as to why the update process fails. If you have an unlocked bootloader what are the reasons for it? Are you using Root(Eg. Magisk) have you flashed any other system level modifications previously while running OOS 5.0.8 Oreo?

I rooted the phone long time ago (can't remember why), but at the latest oreo update I got a message saying that my phone is rooted and the update locksthe root (or something lije that, it was a year ago) never installed different OS ond m recovery is stock. Will it help to reinstall android 8 and then try to update it?

As I already previously suggested above, yes reflashing OOS 5.0.8 before proceeding with updating to OOS 9.0.5 this may help.

What Root are you using Magisk or SuperSU? Regardless which root solution is being used, I suggest you complete removing Root before proceeding with either updates.
