Can't add face data for Face Unlock Oct 4, 2018

    Hi,

    I'm currently on Oxygen 5.15, Android 8.1. I want to use the face unlock feature, but whenever i click 'Add face data', a screen pops up for 0.1 seconds then disappears... how do i solve this and add my face data? or is there an alternate way to add face data?

    Maybe try this...
    Settings>Apps>App list>three dots on top right>Show system apps>now scroll and find Face Unlock>Clear app data and cache...

    Try this
    1. Turn the phone off(unplug the charger if charging).
    2. Hold Power and Volume Down
    3. English (or pick any language that you want)
    4. Wipe data & cache
    5. Wipe cache (it's doesn't delete your personal data)
    6. Yes
    7. Reboot.

    I had the same problem as OP, but after the first time face adding crashes, I can get to the screen where it tells me to put my face in the circle. I do that but it never does anything. It doesn't accept my face. Yes, I've tried different lighting. Doesn't work.

    I've tried these steps and nothing changed. Any other ideas?

    I do not want to update to Pie.

    This thread got me in the right direction:Settings>Apps>App list>three dots on top right>Show system apps>now scroll and find Face Unlock>enable

    For me the faceunlock was blocked after the last major update. Then after that oneplus support told me to reinstall the update via manual update installation. That did not work, then i just stopped looking for a while. Turns out, my face unlock was just disabled... Anyways i hope someone will find this usefull
