Please tell me what all will I lose by following these steps?! Will I be loosing my chats which are not backed-up?! Please respond! I want to follow the method which caused me least loss! said:
Edit: I went on with your instructions, but can't get to step 23 because it isn't create a new "WhatsApp" folder in Android>Media>com.whatsapp! All I'm seeing is the renamed WhatsApp_new! Please help!
Edit 2: Got past step 23 by attempting to download an image I wasn't able to download! The next problem I'm facing is of storage! Can I move(cut) the media folder instead of copying it! It shouldn't make a difference if I'm going to delete it in the end anyway!

The below solution from other user helped me to fix this issue.

Had the same problem and found a solution: Open your file manager -> Storage ->, rename the root Whatsapp folder to any other name (example Whatsapp1) and restart your phone. Good luck 😉
