I was trying to enable call waiting and I get sim card / network error - option is greyed out. How do I enable this?

this is a bug, you are not alone. go to the feedback section and report this so there can be more visibility on this. I've only had it work once for me. otherwise I get the same error. replaced there sim, moved it to the other tray. no dice.

other people have seen this on T-Mobile issued ones too not just global.

With the latest 9.7.8 update, it appears that I am able to get into the additional settings and call forwarding settings. I've tried this on and off of wifi calling. I gave the phone a reboot to make sure it stayed as well, and so far so good. This has worked with limited cell service (2g) and when lte and volte was available. So, possibly fixed?

visual voicemail via the built in dialer seems to be the only phone related service that is not still working.

I got it to work as well. Now I keep getting an error about accessing VVM but I think that's the voicemail app and nothing to do with the phone.

Can confirm the fairly recent update seems to have resolved the call waiting issue, as it's been active for me since.
Visual Voicemail (built in) will only activate if you uninstall the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail app, then go back into the dialer settings, then the VVM switch will be present.

Perhaps you've already tried this, but did you uninstall the T-Mobile VVM app first? That app has to be uninstalled, then when you go into the dialer settings the option for the built in VVM will be present.
What I did was first activate the T-Mobile VVM app, go into the settings and turned on the voicemail to SMS feature (T-Mobile charges like $4/month I think), then uninstalled the app, then turned on the stock dialer VVM. So now I have VVM and I get it dictated to me as a text, and the message appears as though it's coming from the person who left me the VM.

Bummer Sorry. I'm wondering if there's another setting in the T-Mobile app I forgot about. Perhaps a cache wipe off the dialer app? I know I'm kind of grasping at straws here.

yeah, I tried the built in, said it couldn't activate. tried T-Mobile, that did work. I have uninstalled it, but same thing with the built in one. I tired just flipping the switch now. says it's trying to activate, so maybe since other call features are now working..

Make sure your turn WIFI OFF first.
Edit:Forgot to mention, I could never get the T-Mobile app to ever connect to activate while on WiFi. But I've done this a couple of times now, and when WiFi is off it eventually activates after a moment.

Doesn't seem to make a difference turning off wifi and trying to turn it on.
