So I broke my old screen, bought replacement screen and gave it to a friend who works with mobile phones.. he replaced the screen, but now whenever I press at the left corner (about 75% down) the screens stops functioning.. this obviously means I can't use my backcover. or barely use the phone at all, I gotta hold it by the top and.. yea it just doesn't work properly
    any ideas?

Probably more damage was done internally that a screen replacement can't fix. Did you consider taking it to a certified technician?

I basically live in the woods.. I'm going to purchase the OP3 so I won't bother with it.

My first idea is your friend did not plug the screen the right way (maybe not enough) as it have wrong contact in connector of the screen. Call him, he certainly knows how to avoid this.

Edit: open your one and have a look on the connector:

Well he spent hours with it so I just told him that I'll handle it, he had no idea what was wrong with it and it seems like he tried everything.

which one is the ribbon cable? i disconnected the one on the right of the battery connector, connected it again but it didn't seem to help.
sigh, I guess I'll just copy over my shit and live without a phone till I get the op3. the unlocking button stopped working so I can't unlock it because this piece of shit software disables double tap to wake everytime i restart it. bullshit

The connector for display is a large one but if you own the One, you have to remove the mother board in order to reach the display connector witch is under the mother board.

Edit: my bad, for the One, the display connector is on the top of the mother board you don't have to remove mother board. You see it near the rear cam, on it left, it is a large connector.
