I am trying to update my TMobile version to 10.0.4 but I keep getting installation error.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I am rooted and unlocked bootloader if that matters and I also have a download of the update.

OnePlus is zero help cause customer service doesn't even know the TMobile version exists.

    Hi there,

What kind of error are you getting? Is it the incremental update or the full OTA zip? Since you're rooted, incremental update will likely update.
Is this an update you received over-the-air or that you downloaded? T-Mobile version has its own builds.

Have you tried a second time? When the update fails, sometimes it forces the full update.

You can try deleting the OTA file using the File Manager to force it to download again, but I'm not sure if that will do the trick.

Should be in a folder called .Ota that may be hidden.

Let me know if that works for you.

Well since you're rooted, why don't you try flashing the full zip via twrp? I'm using the oneplus 3T and iirc, i always was required to flash the full zip in order to successfully update if i had any sort of system modification installed.

Also the system update would always fail if i used settings app to update the device so i guess you should try flashing via recovery also make sure you reflash both twrp and root after you update as they usually get replaced by the stock rom.

I appreciate the input as this is my second OP device. I cannot find the OTA download folder. I am using Root Explorer if it matters and hidden folders viewing is checked.

TWRP is not available for the 7T yet, or the Pixel4 for that matter so it makes it even more difficult.

I will try to use the downloaded update and use stock recovery and see if that works good idea thanks

edit: good ole oneplus decided to remove install update from recovery. So back to square one.

sure would be nice if an actual OnePlus tech employee would chime in here

Well nothing worked. I gave up and planned to unroot to take the update so I uninstalled magisk and now I can't even get passed the bootloader unlock screen.

And I also spent another hour with those idiots at OnePlus Customer service and had to spoon feed these idiots that yes the hd1907 TMobile device does exist and it's actually made by OnePlus, imagine that.

tomorrow at 730 I have a remote session for them to try and load the wrong software even though I told her to put notes after notes the model number and that it's a TMobile phone .

The rumors of how horrible OP customer service is...are very true.

yup tried that but the geniuses at OP or TMobile decided it was a good idea to remove the local upgrade option including inside stock recovery.

Also I can't find the stock rom to begin with especially when the fing morons at level 2 OP point me to the Indian firmware

Thanks for the reply but that is the same exact firmware OP level 2 "tech support" are pointing to me. The firmware I need is 10.0.4.HD63CB or even the originaly 10.0.3, and apparently its some kind of magical mythical creature to OP "Tech support". After 2 hours of yelling at these morons to actually pay attention to what im saying, they now blame it on Tmobile saying that Tmobile hasn't sent them the OEM software even from launch.

Yes you read that correct. Oneplus is saying that they do not have the software that they installed from their own factory. I guess it was magically jesus'ed onto the phones. I have had it with OnePlus atrocious customer service. I am fully regretting my buying this thing now solely because of their support.

PM sent. I have about zero faith in anything positive changing here with OP support after the hours upon hours Ive been on the phone babysitting these people who do not belong in anything tech related much less support when you cant even tell the difference between hd1907 and hd1910. Yes, they actually sent me the MSM tool and firmware files for the 1910 after an HOUR telling them that I will be super angry if it was the wrong files.

Why did I catch the error and not your "tech support"? Do you hire these people out of the gutter if they can type or what?
