Can't use USB Tethering on macOS

I'm using a OnePlus 7 Pro and would like to share my Internet connection to a MacBook via USB. However, that does not work, the phone is simply not recognized as a network interface.

I've read multiple reports that the connection works after installing the HoRNDIS driver on macOS. macOS, however, natively supports CDC drivers. HoRNDIS does not support the latest versions of macOS, which is a shame.

That leads me to the conclusion that OnePlus relies on RNDIS drivers for USB tethering. Would it be possible to add CDC support on the Oxygen OS side of things? I am pretty sure that should be a matter of the kernel config.

That would help a lot to bring a smooth USB tethering to macOS and probably many Linux machines.
