So i am missing 2 apps after upgrading from 11 to 12 on my OP9

If i go to apps, search for google caller i can find it and open it, if i enter #mypin# i get to the hidden app drawer, and lo and behold, my 2 missing apps are there.

If i go to the settings menu and enter the settings for hidden apps, there seems to be NO hidden apps to "unhide" and the missing apps are not in the "Not hidden" part either.

So, how will i get these 2 apps "unhidden" when they are not in the hidden section in the settings menu. ?

What if, in the hide apps section, you tap the gear icon>select privacy password and select turn off password. I get a prompt saying both app lock and hide apps won't work if i turn that off so maybe that's how they did it

I've seen several cases of this so hopefully it is being looked at. If I come by a solution I'll let you know.

Thank you, i know i can probably factory reset the phone and start over, but i have a LOT of apps and it would be really inconvenient to have to start all over.

I also found out, when i updated, that all of the apps that was "hidden apps" in android 11, would not have their icon on the home screens when updating to android 12.

I used the hidden feature to make all of the apps i have on my 3 home screens hidden to not have them visible in the app drawer.

It seems that i am unable to do so in android 12 as well.

I hope they make a fix for this soon, and until that, i will just have to open play store, and open the dialer app via the app store.

Another user posted in the main update thread that disabling both the app locker and hidden apps all together fixed this for him, give it a try see if it helps

    Hi

    Thank you for the answer.

    I just looked into this.

The applock part was already disabled, i tried briefly to enable it, and then i could see the android caller app, and can "lock it"

    I offcourse disabled this again.

Going to the hidden app part, i was unable to find where to disable this function.

In that part i can only change the hidden status of apps. And apps i hide in there now, is shown in the "hidden" section of that menu, but the 2 missing ones does not.

If i press the cogwheel for "setup" inside the hidden app menu, i have 3 options

    1. Change the 6 digit code
    2. Change the #4digit# code
    3. An option for hiding messages, sent by hidden apps.

Can you tell me, where i disable the hidden drawer function completely ?

Exactly, this is my problem as well. I can turn off the "app lock" feature, but not the "Hide app" feature.

Or atleast, i am unable to find where to do so.
