Yussuan , via OnePlus 7 Pro , Aug 11, 2020 : Hi guys, Im thinking about gettung the new OP8 pro but Im in China right now, so I will receive the device with Hydrogen OS intead of Oxygen OS, I changed my OP7 pro downloading Oxygen OS to the root of the cell and then doing a local upgrade, after that a factory reset and so far so good, does anyone knows if the same procedure can be applied to the OP8 pro? G1597397732622 , Aug 15, 2020 : I'm unable to do a local upgrade because it says unable to downgrade, downgrading is not allowed. Any ideas how to override this issue?
drl431 , Aug 15, 2020 : The system will not allow the installation of an OS version, older than the currently installed version. No way to get around this. Its all about the build date, you may have to wait until a version of OOS is released that is newer than the currently installed HOS version. Its also possible that the OOS version you downloaded is not the most recent.
G1597397732622 , Aug 15, 2020 : I downloaded the oxygen os from the one plus website so should be the newest version. So there's no way to override the hydrogen with oxygen?

jgtrivi , Jan 5, 2021 : Hi! If "rom" means the latest update available in the OP website (support/software upgrade) it does not work like that. The problem is the same as what the beginning of the thread says (not possible to downgrade)
