Change notification volume?

Is there a way to adjust the notification volume separately from the Ring volume on the OnePlus 7 Pro?

If not, how can we get OnePlus to implement this feature?
I know there are 3rd party apps for this but I don't want to use those.

Ummmm, when you hit the volume button there's a gear in the volume pop-up. Touch the gear and then you can change the Media volume separately from the main volume from there.

You misunderstood. I mean notifications volume. Not Media volume. Notifications like in SMS signal, new e-mail etc. etc. Notifications.

Thats not quite what he said, but Media volume changes...you guessed it - Media volume! It does not change the volume of notifications like incoming e-mail, incoming SMS or any other forms of notifications sounds.

I'm all ears if you can explain how to change notifications volume separately from the Ring volume on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Could you take a screenshot?

This is so annoying! This was fine on my 5, but seems they changed it yet again in the 7. WTF

Google linked these long ago. Custom ROMs let you separate them

That does not make it right. My S8+ on stock Pie had them separately. Not only that, it also had a system sounds volume.

Doesn't this require rooting the phone? It should be a built-in feature without having to go through all of that.

I agree, this feature is GREATLY needed. I believe this was Google fault for removed this feature. But please Oneplus, bring it back.

My OnePlus 3 had this till Android 8 I think. With 9 it's gone. I already annoy my colleagues with the loud notifications. How to adjust it in 9 separately?

Google/Android did this! There are very few cell phones with the ability to separate notification volume from ringtone volume. It is a real pain! Thank Google for this! None of the 3rd party apps that I have tried are able to do what we want...YMMV.
However, I have found a work around that works for me. There are various apps that you can use to create ringtones/and or notification tones. So I took a notification tone that I like to use for notifications only and I ran it through the app and cut the volume of the tone in half and then saved it. Then I applied it to my Textra notifications. This way if I have the ringtone volume up rather high, my notification tone is not as loud because the actual file was created and saved with 1/2 volume. I have been doing this for several years now and it works quite well.

I actually prefer having my media volume very low most of the time and therefore I can't hear my notifications. Sadly, as ingenious this fix is, it won't work for my particular case.

Having a separate volume slider for media, notifications and ringtone is something all my previous 200$ phones had. I'm very disappointed a 800$ phone doesn't have such a feature. Having an separate slider for the alarms is cool but not nearly as useful as a notification slider as it's something you use once a month or less.
