I only have Avast which many people recommend :/ I'm quite careful about apps I download. I have stuff like Facebook, Scrabble, Instagram, Candy Crush... That's about it :) Also, I have all the apps on my phone that I had on my HTC and I never had a browser pop up problem like that.

Well, I really hate them, so there is no way to stop them?!

I would love help modding... I am pretty confident with my PC skills, but working with a phone like that kinda freaks me out. I don't want to brick it.

Hmm, perhaps I should switch to that browser? Is that what you use?

    LoL...
It's not malware. Some of your app is being mischief. Btw for charging please change the cable and try. Happened with me. It's 99.99999% cable's fault.

Did you notice if certain sites trigger these intrusive ads ? It has happened to me before as well a couple of times but it was just annoyance nothing more...

As for Modding your OP2 ... (Rooting and Flashing a new rom) I can help you step by step. You just have to let me know where you get stuck :)

Btw I myself was new to "Modding" but I was able to flash a new rom on a friend's OP2 no problem !
You just have to take the first step lol

Nah, I've tried a different cable. This happened with my HTC as well, but not until after 2 years... which is why I'm so annoyed :)

Can't beat the Jason Taylor Brit method right? haha. But Yeah, the charging issue sounds like cable. Have you tried cleaning out your port? (Literally just try blowing in it to check the pins are covered with something) Malware issue you're facing is just websites redirecting to you. I don't really believe OP would ship phones with preinstalled Malware.

I don't have the issue personally except on my PC with the Brit method

Same issue here (with charge port). Did you find a solution?

I allways use the original cable, but I've tried other cable to test and the probem is the same.

I bought a new charger off Amazon, a good one, and it started working again. Good luck!
