I don't know if anyone talked about this, but I have to be sure.
Is it ok to charge overnight my OnePlus 8t? Will it damage the battery?
    Thank you in advance!

I would recommend you to use a lower watt charger if you are gonna charge overnight . You do know that the phone only takes around 40 min to fully charge with the provided 65w charger. Also charging your phone till 100% all the time and draining it to almost empty affects battery health .So maintain the change between 20 and 85% maybe .

Its better not to charge the phone overnight.
There is optimised charging mode that is designed to preserve the battery health of your phone. The feature suspends the phone from charging to above 80 percent and resumes the charging only 100 minutes before it expects you unplug it

It won't damage your battery. You can charge overnight but make sure you have enabled optimized charging feature on.
It will suspend battery after 80% and starts charging in the morning when you are about to wake.

I never faced any problems with charging my devices over night.
Today, every OS has some prevention in the code.

AFAIK, if you keep optimised charging on and charge your device overnight, it shouldn't be damaging the battery for the reasons mentioned by @Dresa91.
    Hope this helps.:)

    Short answer - no.

But how you expect to be sure in a user forum?

Alternative to charging over night you can just plug in the phone whenever it is between 15-20% and unplug at 90-95%. Should be done within 30 minutes so maybe even during breakfast coffee.

Thank you for your help! I never expected this kind of feedback and so quick! I asked this question because I was worried about the charging speed, damaging the battery. I kinda started a new and better habit since I got this phone, I leave it overnight with 12%, wake up 40 min earlier than I usually do, and in the meantime, it charges to about 97%. Because of this, I have more time to prepare for the day!
Thank you all, and I hope you have a nice day!
    P.s I love this phone! ❤️

OnePlus has implemented enough safety measures for protecting the battery so you need not worry. 👍🏻

I charge mine overnight. I charge mine too 100 percent. I called customer tech support and they said it's your preference. But the phone picks up your habit's and makes suggestions.

I charge night with optimized charging. Since I have a 8 Pro I also do it on the wireless with bedtime mode.
The 20-80% tactics ignore some factors like what the OS wants and what it needs. Ever heard about background optimizing?

Can be forced via adb shell though...
Background optimizing (adb shell) : cmd package bg-dexopt-job

Some wipe caches like crazy... Calibrates batteries regulary by draining it to 0% and a variated type of charge method after that... Thinks the battery practically dies if they connect the charger and fall asleep ONCE and accidently charge to 100%...

After all... 0% is not true 0%. What if 100% is not really true 100% so the battery last longer?

Worry about 100%...complaining on drain during the night... Wonder why an increasing system drain happens... Worry even more. Wiping cache to fix it... Do calibrations and all kinds of things... Start worry about the charge port due to connecting to charge very often...
Don't forget to enjoy your devices too.
What is the value of stop worrying about the battery? Could it be the value of changing battery in 2 years? 3 years or maybe 4? Who knows.

Most of the days I never connect to a charger until bed. And if I'd connect it would be due to some extra demanding stuff that drained a little bit extra. Then I only charge enough to avoid a too low discharge before bed. That's it.
