    hi everyone.
I am new to this community. just got my one plus 8 a week back. I just am curious and anxious about what is the future of one plus devices and their updates and support after today's Chinese app ban. even mi store and mi community has been banned.
I am really worried. I think one plus should atleast issue an official statement about this.

Xiaomi is very intrusive with data. I don't think Oneplus is that intrusive. I hope oneplus committed all the data security protocols.

I hope Oneplus isn't saving our personal data, like TikTok app, Indian Govt had suspected Mi Community that they might be storing personal data thus in the view of this, they have banned it.

All this is, is a political war between India and China... Let the countries figure it out. No need for OnePlus to be part of politics...

OnePlus has to follow GDPR rules at least in EU... So they can't collect personal data without the users consent

Here we are talking about APAC location (ASIA), not sure if OnePlus is following any set of rules that protects our personal data here in APAC location. And I believe no user will provide his consent to keep his personal data, unless it is written on those long "Term & Conditions" page which people barely read and click Accept in order to proceed further.

Apple doesn't keep any data and also provide the best security available in the market today, that's how a company earns trust.

We all love OnePlus, but to be frank after seeing China's govt. attitude we are forced to suspect all the Chinese companies.

Hope Oneplus won't betray us and will regain our trust.

Image is everything, Oneplus should keep this thing in their mind.

Pretty much every company collects and keeps user and non user data.

Even Apple collects and keeps user data. It even states so in their privacy policy and apparently you can request the data they have on you.

As far as this forum goes, it's gonna collect whatever info you give them, your connected IP and a few other things.

As far as what OnePlus collects from your phone, that's a good question. I doubt it's anything to important.
