This happens to me a lot too. Tried resetting the app, to no avail. Happens on both 5T and 7T, but less on the 7T.

What is your chrome version ?
Try uninstalling it to factory version and then update it to the latest one.

And please don't say it was Dev or Beta that you were using.

Tried to remove the updates and put them back in, did not help. No, it's not beta, version 10.3.0. GM21AA

I was talking about chrome beta or Dev.

"Put them back" ? You mean update from play store or just copied old data and replaced it with new data folder?

I use the latest available production version of chrome (version 79.0.3945.136)

It does not help to clear data, as suggested by Google.

As far as I know, there is problem with sub-program "Android System WebView" which is causing chrome to stop working for some reason.

Try "Desktop site" view in chrome setting, it helped me a lot with accidental freezing.

same here, its been days now thought it to be internet problem then downloaded uc browser working fine. Did all possible ways to make chrome work again, it just would'nt load links, websites, or existing tabs even, also freezes from time to time. Not at all working, we need a solution now.
