What happens if you try to update ? Do you get any errors ?

Is your Android Webview up to date / updated ?

This is an issue that Google needs to fix.
I am updating manually once every few weeks by installing the apk from apkmirror.

@the_o2 has somehow got his to update for now somehow. Wait for him to reply.

Try uninstalling al updates for the WebView app and see if that works.

That worked for me on one phone but not the 2nd.

    I did the same,
Uninstall the updates of Google Play services apps and Google Play Store app clear it's storage data as well,
Now open the Play Store search for Web View first click on update meanwhile search for Chrome and click for updates.
It works again for VIVO Z1 Pro try if it works for you.

I have never updated Chrome manually since 5 months and I have always the latest version of January 2021 on Nord 12/256 and automatic updates on the Play Store.
So I am in doubt concerning a Google issue.

Dump old webview by new update, and relax. said: said:
In my case, I used an APK search and analyzer, and noticed Oneplus updates had not updated Webview, which was still dated 12/31/2008. Using the Play Store, I brought it up to date. So far so good. said:

After that, use the APK Analyzer to list your apps, then find the Android System Webview App, and get details by stretching the 3 dots to get App Info.
Then clear both cache, and storage.
Note that you can get Webview details using a search in settings, but the APK Analyzer will also list system apps and give you the info to clear cache and storage.
It's a chore after a few weeks of frustration, but I think that solves most problems, however, an old website from 2008 still keeps launching on the default browser on startup, and so far no amount of storage and cache clearing has made a difference.

To get rid of that find settings and site settings in Chrome, which has it's own version of Webview, and turn Javascript off.

I find a way on the community :

    - switch on cellular data
    - remove auto update for chrome and web view
    - stop, clear cache, for chrome, web view, play store
    - remove update for chrome and webview
    - launch play store, go to chrome, launch update...
