I didn't know you had state fairs in Scotland. That is awesome!

It's not State Fairs, that's just everyday food in the West of Scotland.

I still hadn't seen deep fried beer before I left though, so those Southern US states may still have their advantages.

So do you have BBQ yet over in that part of the world?

I'm one of those blokes, I can't stand cilantro. Ruins everything for me. Tastes like soap!

We do, for the few weeks a year where it isn't raining (ok I have slightly better weather in London). Sadly I live in an apartment building so have to mooch off of friends who live out of town, or head to things like this.

I gained 12lbs in 1 weekend at their event last year, already got my tickets booked for both days next month so I may as well just accept being a fat *** from now on.

Ok, I am impressed. I did not realize that you would adopt all of our bad habits. Meatopia sounds just terrific. But I am not sure the lamb can be found in any BBQ joint within 200 miles of me.

That's the (only) joy of having Wales so nearby, no shortage of sheep for the BBQ.

Or the oven. This one takes about 3 days but oh my, and cilantro is optional.

I understand, and like lamb, but BBQ in this part of the world comes from pig meat. The only question is the type of sauce: vinegar or tomato based.

Not a fan of it. At all. I can only tolerate it in tiny amounts, preferably masked by something else. :(

I will eat pretty much any part of a pig except chitterlings, **** that shit (no pun intended). Had slow braised pigs feet at a local Chinese last weekend, was absolutely fantastic but probably not something I'll ever cook for myself.

And I know better than to insert myself into the religious wars over BBQ sauces - if North & South Carolina can't even agree I'm just going to stay well out of it (spoiler I love both).
