I thought I would check their actual policy on this. Located here https://oneplus.net/privacy-and-legal

Unfortunately the warranty is very very limited. As you agreed to it when signing up legally they don't have to replace it, especially as they are located in China. The UK for example has it's own Sales of Goods act which would be a different story.

OnePlus pretty much cover everything in it to be able to blame it on a customer.

Well, unless he held that end over an open flame, the damage occurred at some point while it was plugged into a micro-usb port. :p

Hmmm... Well idk, but he/she said the phone want plugged in when this happened. I'm no expert though and you sound like you know about electricity, so I digress.

Regardless of whether this case is genuine or not, there are ways to do it if it's a serious matter, which might result an indirect ban of sale of OP devices legally for a period of time or indefinitely in the country where the suit was filed, just an FYI.

Well I've had my OnePlus one for some time. My wife has one also and even my mother has one. All of us are using the original cable and none of them are faulty.

In fact they do not look any different than when we started using them.

I seriously wouldn't bother with a lawsuit. In fact I seriously can't believe you even brought it up over a USB cable.

I am guessing you have been wise enough to stop using this when it started to fall apart, if so your house isn't going to burn down.

Just buy another cable. I'll be surprised if you don't have another round the house, I have ample.

    Keep smiling

Cable lifes depend on how you use them. My kids changed their iphone cables, ear phones ... very 2-3 months. I can use them in many years. :D:p

Its not like those apple cables where they would swap out your old one for safety reasons because its practically only you. The cable is fine under normal use.

No, they don't. They ask you to buy a new one at apple store.

Your device must have been out of warrenty or you did not articulate it well. I never paid for a cable replacement with apple. Nor has anyone I know.

Also guys, OP updated their policy a while ago to offer warrenty for its cables. So why are people still complaining?
