Clean Installation of newer (4.1.6) stock ROM Jul 21, 2017

    Hi, Day before yesterday I bought my first OP3T. Out of box I found OxygenOS OS 3.5.1 came pre-installed. I found that software update available (4.1.6) as OTA. But I am not sure should I perform an OTA update or is there any way to perform a 'fresh/clean install'? (As I used to do on my iPhone via iTunes)

    Main reason I am concerned because I want to save space (internal memory) also I always prefer clean install over updates.

    Go with OTA and after that u can go settings/backup and restore/restore dafaults. I didn't hr my phone after update and nothing bad happend so far. Works like a charm ;)

    You don't needed pc.. Just download the lasted rom and put this same zip on your folder device, then just go to local upgrade and select it.

    But you can update by OTA and after doing a factory reset. If you do this first and after a full clean install you don't see the de diference.

    Let us know your feedback after going to stable OTA vs clean install

    I used sideload method as described on Oneplus ROM download page with ADB command. Once upgraded to Android 7.1 with OOS 4.1.6 I then tried factory reset to make sure the 'half-paused' temporary OTA file was deleted from my phone. Not sure if that was proper way to do or not.

    The ROM is really butter smooth and I'm loving my new OP3T. :)
