    Why wouldn't they make the date public, the September 3rd was for Pixels & OnePlus 7..

    google pixel. pie update for the 5/5t in late December 2018 so it could be that long, but just downloaded a big update on beta channel says preparing for major update. it's still pie for now. I have the 6

    An Open Beta came out saying that they are optimising the system to prepare for major upcoming updates.
    I would expect it in a few days to a few weeks although once again this is completely at this discretion, its when its ready pretty much.
    I'm sure OnePlus devs are working around the clock to get it to you guys.

    Pretty much every manufacturer used atleast some Project Treble as it was practically forced after Pie. I'm certain OnePlus has utilised that effect.

    Although that doesn't mean the update was easy for them, it was probably a-lot of elbow grease and its a very welcome achievement. The reason they are likely releasing a last Pie build is due to the fact that OnePlus 6/6T didn't receive the last few developer previews, so a big preparation update would likely be required.

    I am quite sure they won't release it soon, as their priority is the 7 series. It's quite unfortunate the way manufacturers treat devices updates, and this is the main reason why people will always buy iPhones.
