I think it's because, if they were to give an exact release date and they didn't make that date (things can go wrong at any time when software is involved) for some reason, they'll be disappointing a lot of users and this forum would be flooded with more threads about that then it is now the ones about asking when it will be released

One rule will tell you that it is not allowed to ask for update dates here in this forum ... because this is a user forum. The other users don't know too when new updates will be released.
