Haven't found a thread on this, but perhaps I missed it.

Any idea why this screen comes up before the lock screen everytime now?

Can it be disabled, it's quite annoying and very bright at night. (See attached image)

    Thank you all,
    John

In settings search for "face unlock assistive lighting". It should be in the face unlock settings in the security and lock screen section of the settings. If you turn that off it should be gone.
Note that the path to the setting may be slightly different if you are on OxygenOS 12

My settings dont have that option but there was another one listed that seems to have fixed it, not sure why mine are different but this was the one here that I disabled.

Yeah, that's the one. I'm guessing you are on OxygenOS 12? Settings menu is slightly different than on my 8 pro, which is still on Oxygen OS11, that's why i included the part of the path being different, and that's why the setting is called something else on your phone too.

You're welcome 👍 It's a bit of uncharted territory as of now with the whole codebase merge (except for those on OxygenOS 12) but in time we'll figure it out. At least it's exciting to explore something new.🙂
