It's clear that OP wants to support 3T for the same amount of time as OP3, but OP calculates it's software support time from the birth of OP3.

I would expect in 1st year of any phone ownership to have the fastest and latest updates + 2 majors Android updates.

What do we have with 3T? Max 6 month of top-level support + only one Android update (considering it was released far after N was).

OP can release new phone every 3 months, it should not be customer's problem.

The only solution is to prolong support of OP3 to the time range of 3T.
Otherwise there is no reason to buy T phones.
If this will not be the case - bye-bye OP, no excuses anymore.

    Your thoughs?

the specs are very simlar 3t over 3 is not a huge upgrade after the release of oneplus3 many phone came with 821 processor just to stay updated they released op3t with add on front camera battery and 821 processor , for u it may be different for them its hell same so dont feel Superior . it will go with 3 and it will die with 3

Frankly i don't really care. I'm using the OOS because it's the first OEM software that i didn't need to change. When the time comes that the phone will no longer be supported officially, I'll migrate to custom roms. Simple.

No one feels superior here. Company releases new phone - please provide support. Phone should not be born as 'dead baby'. Almost the same spec is not a reason to shorten support. LG G6 and G5 has very similar hardware, I don't think LG will consider them the same :)

Seriously now, for you info, one plus was the FIRST phone manufacturer who released android N for 3/3T after Google. So you are crying like a pu$$y for nothing. Buy their phones or dont buy them. Its easy. Also, I dont know how the plans of OnePlus are clear for you only. i dont get the point of this thread.

I sure hope not. Discontinuing the 3T, this soon, was a mistake. This company should always have two, to three "active" products, and now that the OP5 is shown to be a half broken device, the demand for the 3T will rise. Right now, the 3T, is OnePlus golden egg. Or, it was.

Why not extend support by switching to Lineage OS once OnePlus drops support for 3/3T?
For me, the best part of OnePlus is an unlockable bootloader.

If OP doesn't decide the OP3(T) was a mistake (for whatever reason) and ditches it like the OP2 and X.

People still deny that this could (will) happen to OP3/T, mind boggling, right?

You want to give them support for your OP3/3T? Well last time I checked the OP sold their phone for under 400$. Did you ever wonder why it was so cheap? Of course you wouldn't, it's because they don't hire 10k people and support 90s devices, no they instead hire hipsters who are to lazy to support OP3/3T, that's why your phones are cheap, well at least one of the reasons.
