    IF

you have issues with battery drain, that came out of the blue, you updated to OOS 4.0.0 or 4.0.1 or 4.0.x (futureproof thread ;)), and don't know what to do

    THEN

uninstall Facebook app, FB messenger or anything FB.

    AND

    check if that helped

There are numerous users reporting that they have the issue regardless of OS version, or the previous OS version they updated from. And uninstalling solved the problem. Heck, they even report that front cam gives blurry pictures in these apps, while working just fine outside of FB app.

So please, try that before you post anything. If that doesn't help... (sh**, I didn't think of it) - just... uninstall everything :) battery will be happy :D

EDIT 11.01.2016 10:00 AM: FB said it's indeed their fault, probably solved by now...: https://twitter.com/davidmarcus/status/818908229585420288

uninstall, see if it works. use the poll to tell others if idea is good or not (to solve the issue of battery drain, not of not having facebbok app :) )
If it works, you can install the app again and see if issue is solved. It just might dissappear (can't check it myself, as I donb't use FB at all)

Other fix - get an Iphone as someone mentioned that it fixes the issue permanently ;)

it doesn't mean that something is not using your phone instead of you (like that one bad app). on top of phone are located main chips which get hot.

Removing FB and Messenger removes the problem! Thanks iNtEnSePL. Instead of draining when on charge, now my phone actually charges on charge! :)

I can confirm, having Facebook and Messenger is the number 1 cause of battery drain, specially with their latest updates today.

Who cares, it's the #1 problem solver right now available. There must be some issue on one of sides (or even on Google side, who made Nougat core), but that's what we have right now.

    It's up to you ;)

If you have battery issue, and don't use (never used FB apps), then the second best solution is to do a factory reset.
