    can we get a music app created for the OS? google play music was the only app in the OS to play music and they killed it... and I refuse to swap to YouTube music. would love a basic built in music player app

    OP had its own music player, it failed. There are tons of other alternatives if YouTube Music isn't your thing.

    thanks, yea but most seem scammy or want too many permissions lol so I was hoping for a solid built in app. I refuse to use youtube as long as they protect pedophiles

    There is still the old apk on apkmirror.
    But you use for example vlc player or YouTube music
