I don't have the 3/3t, but on my 5 this has been possible since day1.. It's the netflix 1080p I can't watch due to lack of DRM-1 widevine support

YouTube doesn't require any DRM L1 certification. For Netflix and other subscribing apps, you need it You can watch 1080P videoes on YouTube in your OnePlus 5T out of the box.

Yes. I get you. For 1080p in Netflix, as you said you don't have L1 certification, you can visit nearest service centre and get that update for free if you want to. It won't take a long and you can watch full HD in any app then.[e]1f44d[/e]

Yeah, I don't need it that bad.. was in touch with customer service and they told me I would have to send my device away for 7-14 days.. the drawback of not living close to anything :D

My YouTube app always defaults to 480p at first so I usually need to go in and go for the 1080p cause I do have good internet here. I've had my 5t since January I think. I haven't used Netflix(nor do I want to, I have a ps4 and ps3 as well as a pc, x360 capable of doing that) with it though.

yeah I think he means the update is to make YouTube automatically play 1080p instead of 480p.
