Its not a 1080p, it has a horizontal resolution of 1080 pixels but it's aspect ratio is 2:1.
You wouldn't notice any difference between UHD displays until you put some VR glasses

Dude the ppi is still 401 and it's resolution is 1440X1080P and u will find the battery capacity can increased as per my theory cause 3t battery aslo increased it makes sense they can go for 3500 mah but the screen to body ratio of phone is 18:9 so battery life would be possiblely same as the op5 and QHD on 6 and who use vr every day

And now filter that list to display carrierunlocked devices with a headphonejack.
Besides, I don't know where you are from, but here in Central-Europe, it's almost impossible to get a flagship-phone for a reasonable price without having to sell your soul to a carrier. And that is definitely not worth the money imho.
But if it works for you: great! But please don't assume that others have the same options to choose from.

You will find a great deal on oneplus 5 if you wait for a while as the internals are almost the same

You can go ahead and get the 5T. But as far as the updates are concerned you will get only up to Android 9 because even though Oreo is released you will get 5T out of the box with only Nougat installed just like 3T was released with Marshmallow instead of Nougat. Even though the company has a standard of giving two OS updates but it is literally only one update for the T version as it doesn't come with the new OS pre-installed.

I purchased my the OnePlus 5 in late August and now the 5T is launched at the same price after a marginal time difference. Maybe they should give an option to OP 5 owners to upgrade to the 5T at a nominal charge.

Same as the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

OnePlus is a company, not charity.

I suppose the difference in 5 and 5T is significant enough to allow the change!

And what is OnePlus supposed to do with used phones? Use them as bricks to build a house?
Again, OnePlus is not a charity. Want a new phone? Sell your current one and use the money to buy it.

Furthermore, the differences are even smaller than the ones there were between the OP3 and OP3T.

the form factor will be the same...meaning dimensions will remain same it would be just that body to screen ratio will be larger.
