I would like to see a response from oneplus with this. It could get people thinking that our card info was taken by oneplus after buying the 5T.I do feel oneplus need to look at things and what they are doing as it could get to a stage that it may damage the company and user trust.

Or is it that oneplus is doing so well and growing fast that people out there don't like it and are trying to damage oneplus.

you do know that even a private mode browsing window in Chrome has the addresses collected by Google (private browsing only means it will not appear on the history YOU can see, but on their side it's transparent). you do also know that most phone makers do the same kinds of things with their Android version. this is why people install ROMS and do not install Google apps on their phones.

Yeah, I agree that it may well be harmless (at the moment) but oneplus should be a lot more aware of the code that is present in their roms regardless of whether it's a beta or a full release.

I do however find it quite surprising the number of posts here basically saying that they expect their data to be harvested by large corporations as if it's acceptable behavior. It used to be accepted that if you were getting something for free that "you are the product" . Since when did it become acceptable that paying 500+ quid for a phone allowed them to know everything you say/do/buy/view etc. ..

What a world we live in lol!

Well looking at what TeddyMobile is, they sounded like Truecaller, which was the only thing I saw suspicious in the whole "issue" here. But it is true, that a lot of apps take our data without our consent, and this one is coming to the surface only because it was recently added by OnePlus themselves.

Thats kinda how banks work. They are trusted with your money, if they give it out without your permission. They give it back to you

yea they are trusted by us but they will deduct our money from our account only after validating properly that its we that performing the transaction on the website ... Its websites fault if they allow hackers to steal thier users data when they make transaction on thier website

Point one, oneplus didn't allow hackers to steal anything. it's just happened.
point two, the bank is still liable
