I wouldn't do it if I was you, every phone will withstand water for a few minutes, it's just in the long run they tend to stop working properly.

A minute under water is more that what most people would expose their device to. The real question is if any water actually got into the device. Another test and at different depths would be more useful

Who needs that much water resistance in every day use? I don't understand it. I've always took out my old M8 in rain to answer messages or next to a pool to listen to music and guess what? It worked flawlessly after. People are acting like the smallest splash would destroy the phone. Just don't be an idiot :^)
Better invest in a solid case and/or screen protector, because dropping a phone is 100x more risky than having it splashed by a bit of water.

I dont think so.......Almost any phone would survive a minute under water.

I believe it was said the OnePlus 5 was splash proof, but not waterproof. So if you accidently dropped your OnePlus 5 into the sink/toilet or got some rain on it, it won't die. However, you can't go swimming with the OnePlus 5 because it won't last.

I can assure it is not waterproof.
this was just one minute anyways.
the damages start in 5-7 days anyways.

one plus says that it isn't rated but it can withstand some water exposure. it wasn't like phone 3 years ago would fall apart straight away when exposed

why don't they announce that is waterproof. it's good to know. even if it's not waterproof for hours it would be good to know if it is waterproof even for seconds in water...
