In OnePlus 7 6/128gb model why only 1.6gb RAM is empty without any background apps and it is showing 3.5gb is used out of 5.7gb. Can anyone answer this???

Empty RAM is wasted RAM. Try using the search button before opening a thread.

How do you know there are no apps running in background. The Android system requires ram to keep your phone functioning. Plus do you feel a lag because only 1.6 gb RAM is empty?

This seems weird even my system is using 3.5gb RAM but I have 2.5gb free (using same model as yours)
Try manually force closing apps consuming more RAM
Still not helping then try restarting your phone

    Android is Linux based
in Linux, free RAM is wasted RAM

There's a reason RAM usage is now locked behind developer settings, because nobody apparently understands that more RAM used isn't bad.

Until you feel that your device is running slow or there is stuttering, you should not worry about that. The OS will optimize according to your usage and make necessary RAM available whenever needed. Even after closing the apps, many apps run in the background. If you feel lagging then restarting your device will solve that problem.

your system takes all of the empty ram as much as it needs to operate smoothest, when the required available ram is below the limit, your system will free-up the ram it took and give it to the device as free.

So basically, if you put apps u will see system take more less ram the more you start multitasking it.

Aaand no, free ram is not wasted ram, if you got alot free ram it helps reduce device slowdown, thats not a myth but science/fact, when you got low ram, your system will start slowdown because your rams are at full capacity working, and thus it requires more time and this causes naturally slowdown, just like an HDD.

I think it will start cause slowdowns when you got less than 300mb of available ram.

anywayyy, 1.6gb ram is ok if you got bunch of apps, but if not then no its not rlly normal, you probably for a long time did not perform a device restart. its recommended to restart device once a day.
