Depends if you feel like you need to? Why did you buy the 6 if you wanted the 6t? It is only a question you can answer really.

OnePlus will announce an exchange policy if they choose to offer one. You will then need to decide if it's worth it or not.

No problem and honestly, I don't think there's going to be too big an improvement so sticking with the 6 won't be so bad. I'm only aware of the "design" change (little less of a notch), the audio jack was removed and the in display fingerprint sensor. So depending on what you like, it may not be worth upgrading.

I'm actually watching to see what's offered and if the price of the 6 drops to move inventory then I may just grab a new 6 instead of the 6T myself.

Advice - the OP6 is a good phone, and will remain so for a good while yet, if you want to upgrade/update wait for the Oneplus 7, or another device in 12 months time.

Just because Oneplus release a new device every 6 months or so doesnt mean you have to upgrade every 6 months

honestly, even with the release of the 6T on the horizon my wife and I went with the 6 because it had a headset jack. But I see this phone lasting for quite some time. this is the fastest phone I've ever used out of the box and the software is great too. If I was in your position (I just got my 6 about 3-4 days ago) I'd still stick with the 6

You might want to decide it yourself.

    Honestly speaking I don't see a point in upgrading to a 6t from a 6

I'll be buying, but only because T-Mobile will be carrying it. I'm a baller on a budget....LOL, I can't dish out $550-$600 in one shot!

I would say no. But that's just how I see it. The 6T is a more refined version of the 6, with a fantastic feature of under display fingerprint reader, bigger battery and a much improved looking screen. But apart from that probably no difference to the 6, except the loss of the headphone jack. Possible, but unlikely we'll see Super-Vooc charging on the 6T. So it depends whether the price difference between the used price you'd get for your 6 and the new price of the 6T is worth those upgrades. Only you can judge that for yourself.
But to be clear - if you want to 'exchange' you'll have to sell your 6 privately. Which let's be honest is super easy to do.

"OnePlus has always been enthusiast-oriented. Their phones run close-to-stock software, and it's incredibly easy to get ROMs and custom recoveries onto them. A bootloader unlock request page that just went up on OnePlus's site indicates that could be about to change with the upcoming 6T, which many have speculated will also be sold by T-Mobile"

    Maybe:

"Our guess is that the regular, unlocked OnePlus 6Ts will still be able to be unlocked via standard methods, whereas the T-Mo models will force their owners to jump through some hoops to accomplish the same task. Waiting 1-2 weeks for an application result will surely be annoying, though."

Still a guess from Android Police at this point, tho :)
