C'mon. I have OP5 what is perfectly working phone and stuck on Android 10 :(. Why OnePlus cannot make more updates to "legacy" phones. My OPO is running Android 11 with LineageOS :D. If fast charge would work in custom ROM I would flash LineageOS to OP5... but no.

I would assume planned obsolescence. It's the orga work these days, I guess.

I guess giving dodgy updates is also part of their planned obsolescence. Eg. First stable build of OOS11 for 7 series (Still not fixed most of bugs).

Is this a serious question or are you just whining? Like every other company in the world OP have a limited number of employees. In order to keep Android updated on every model they would have to hire more developers for every model that they release only to keep them working on that one model. How could they have a group working on OP5 when they're not selling those anymore? Who's gonna pay for the developers working on them? Do you want the phones to cost four times as much just so that people who own a OP3 also can have android 12?

So they are terminating old workers when a new phone is released :D that's good.

Look example LineageOS devs. They make all custom roms so why OnePlus can't make OxygenOS to older devices

Yes, up to date software is always better and now when chip shortage present buying new phone burdens environment more. So keep your phones green!
