you're right, it wouldn't have. I just don't see why people are complaining soo much about it.

Yeah, we've come to expect this from OnePlus. It's strange that OnePlus doesn't seem to care about their image, especially since they wanted to create an image with the OnePlus One to sell future phones at a higher price. Also, the sun doesn't move, we move around the sun :p

I guess they just want OnePlus to be a little more transparent.

Personally i think these promises shouldn't be made, not by HTC and not by OnePlus because anything can happen so you can either release a buggy build or break your promise.

Samsung gets criticised for not being open with their customers about android updates but personally i think that's better than making a promise then not delivering.

I've said the this over and over no one gets it. They still have a whole month left from the time they had a stable build

Sorry but this is not true:
Source code for the final build (5.0.0_r1) was released on Nov 3: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/build/ /android-5.0.0_r1

And everyone is still expecting 5.1 to fix 5.0.2 bugs. Sorry but that argument doesn't seem remotely valid to me.

So you would have rather them build cm12s on 5.0.0 knowing it had huge unavoidable bugs just to make deadline

No I would rather them wait for Google to fix there shit. I'm in no hurry for a broken lolli. But based on the forums not many care about having a stable build until they load it and complain after. they can wait till 5.1 for all I'm concerned. I use lolli daily on my n5 for work. It's doesn't come close to Kit Kat stability. We're not missing much

    Here's a few common questions:

    1. Why have you posted something that has already been posted about a hundred times already?

    2. Who the hell are these people you speak of that (wrongly) see the Oneplus One as a successor to the Nexus 5? The successor to the Nexus 5 is the Nexus 6. There's a clue in the name, plus basic mathematics adds further supporting evidence to this claim; whereas most things numbered 'One' tend not to be the successor to anything.

    1) Most threads are worded too angrily. I tried to write it a bit more structured, which some people in this thread seem to appreciate

    2) Spiritual successor. The nexus line used to be flagship-like specs with a stock version of android for a cheap price. The Nexus 6 is really expensive, too big for most and generally not worth the money. The OnePlus One is cheaper than the Nexus 5, has better specs and built quality and has (near) stock android. It's the same way with the Nexus 9 and the Nvidia Shield: The shield is cheaper, better built, has more impressive features and (near) stock android. Many people that were big fans of the Nexus 7 and Nexus 5, are now going for the OnePlus One and the Nvidia Shield instead of the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9.
