Guide CM11s -> CM12 Nightlies

    sproglet , Jan 7, 2015 :
If anyone is interested I found a way from CM11s to CM12 while keeping all my apps/data.

You'll need the latest nightly: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon
    Google Apps: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
    TWRP: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/bacon

    1. Ensure CM and GApps files are on your device and you have TWRP installed (plenty of guides available)
    2. Boot to TWRP and do a backup.
    3. Factory Reset your device in TWRP.
    4. Install CM12 Nightly
    5. Restore DATA in TWRP (deselect all others)
    6. Boot to system.
    7. When Android has finished upgrading your apps it will get stuck in a boot loop, do not despair this is expected and easy to fix.
    8. Hold the power button to power off your device and then boot to TWRP (Vol down+Power)
    9. Install the GApps package.
    10. Boot to system and you should be working with all your Apps installed.

I did have a couple of apps that kept crashing after I did this but simply uninstalling/installing them resolved all issues.

Hope this helps anyone who wants to go 11s->12

    Edit: Updated Google Apps Link.

I think flashing over CM11S also works but can't say for certain as I already was on unofficial nightlies.

It said it was incompatible to me hence the need to do the factory reset.

Turn off and continue from step 8

The CM12 is 5.0.2 and the gapps say 5.0.1 that matters?

and I dowloaded "pa_gapps-stock-5.0.1-BETA5-20141225-signed.zip" dont know if this is the file I have to install :(

Don't think there is a 5.0.2 gapps package. Certainly that's the one that XDA say is the latest.

Should do. Think that's where it's stored :)

Flashed CM12 yesterday without any problems.
But because of the instability of the system, I decided to go back to my old backup (11S).

Now I have the problem that after I turn off the screen, I am not able to wake my phone up again.
Power button is responsive while screen is on, but once the sceen turn off, I have to reboot.

    Anyone else experienced this issue?

    Nice guide.

And not wanting to go through re-setting up all my apps and accounts and crud is the main reason I haven't tried a Lollipop ROM yet.

But this does look a tad risky. Might just wait a bit longer. I kinda have everything running real smooth right now.

Settings >display >untick prevent accidental wake up.
This solved the problem for me.
