I just flashed cm12s using stock recovery option, now when I go to the developer's options I don't get the option to enable root access. However if I search for root access in the settings I can see the option but when I select it I am again in the Developer Options again with no root access option.

Unlike the open source CM12, COS12 does not have built in root access. I believe it may have something to do with the certification. If you want root on COS12, you'll have to manually root it using SuperSU. (CM11s didn't have it by default either unless you used a kernel with a script or some other way of enabling it).

And reflashed the OTA again? If that still doesn't work, either revert to a nandroid backup (if you have one), or you may need to clean flash :(

You can manually power off (hold the power button for a few seconds). Then reboot manually into recovery (hold power and down button together) and try clearing caches and/or reflashing the OTA manually.

Something must have been wrong with the original bacon file I downloaded. I deleted it and redownloaded, worked like a charm. Thanks for your help!

Has anyone had to manually zip SuperSU? I don't have the option or the folder to root my phone again. Help!

Yes, everyone has to manually root COS 12 using SuperSU. It doesn't have built-in root like CM12 open source does.

I haven't disabled anything - just installed the ROM and cleaned the cache via Android Assistant.
I had worse battery live with CM12 what came out a week ago as with the latest version. This one seems fine. Need more testing, first impressions seem promising.

It worked for me and many others without any problems. I don't know why it didn't work for you.
