It's highly unlikely that they had a bad batch. Older OnePlus users who recently upgraded are almost always complaining about the display issues with newer generations (7, 7T, 8, and 8T Series) of phones. It is evident now that there's something wrong either with the software or hardware. On another note, it's really funny Josh that you've settled with the issues now destroying the very tagline of the brand "Never Settle". Haha.

It feels like we've purchased the device in beta version where we're just testing and providing feedback of each and every experiment that they call "Update". Everyday I'm waking up to a new issue present on this phone.

I agree it definitely seems like they rushed the 8T.

Yes I feel that too now, yes it's always bad to compare, this phone is my first 120hz. I'm overall very impressed with the display. Looks very sharp also considering its on 1080p.

Haha settled until the 9 anyway 😂

Just to bring this up again, I had a 3rd 8T delivered and can confirm I see this red hue to the display on all 3 models, all have different manufacture dates so it's certainly not a bad batch of phones. It's simply just how these AMOLED panels are on the 8T. Looking at the phone straight on there's no problem it's perfect white, so I can't really complain. I guess my OCD takes over sometimes. The shift from white to red on a slight angle on the display is normal from all the 3 phones I've had. Maybe some don't see it I'm not sure. But I can say it's certainly normal.

Overall a brilliant display. Super bright and sharp.

Thanks Josh for letting us know the result of your test. It somewhat brings a peace of mind to me knowing that I don't own a defective device. At the same time, three 8Ts just for testing purpose... that is insane man.

    Hi mate,

I think it's quite normal, I had 3 devices and they were all the same, could I ask your manufacture date? It's on the box.

Hey Josh, I just received a brand new 9R, and seriously I'm facing the issue exactly as you have described. I have asked for a replacement. Does it have something to do with the pre-installed screen guard?

You might already have found the reason for this <issue> in replies to this thread. However, I can confirm that it has nothing to do with the pre-applied screen protector. I removed the protector on my unit (8T) to check but problem stays the same.
