    Care for some T?

    UPDATE: 20/09/2021
Scroll down to read the original thread.

OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, in a round table interview with the Verge (and other journalists) officially announced that there will not be a 9T this year. He said, “This year we will not be launching a T-series product” confirming that there are no plans for a pro variant either.

While skipping a T variant seems reasonable, given that the 9 Series are quite capable and also receiving new features via updates, it still feels strange as we have grown accustomed to the bi-annual refresh devices. Now, whether if the 10 series will be revealed earlier as a result of this development still stands to question but it's safe to assume that a flagship launch is not on the cards this year. However, there are reports of a 9RT being in the works and with notable leakers even betting on a launch date, an updated mid-ranger might be on its way.

In the same interview, Pete shared more details about the joint efforts between OPPO and OnePlus. Following the successful codebase merger of Color Os and Oxygen OS in July 2020, the company is now switching to a new “unified software” the first phone to run this blended experience is expected to be announced in Q2 2022, likely the OnePlus 10 Series. Furthermore, OnePlus’s fast charge tech - Warp charge will now be integrated with OPPO’s SuperVOOC technology.

OnePlus still stresses that these changes are for the better and that OnePlus 2.0 aims to bring the best of both worlds - speed and reliability - together.

However, I'm curious to hear your thoughts. What do you think?

    Hello community,

In late 2017 Twitter did something they hadn't done in years – the microblogging platform doubled the character limit for tweets from 140 to 280! Twitter explained in a blog post that this was a chance for users to better express themselves. As a person who loves to compose long tweets I couldn't be happier. But almost 4 years later, I've realized you don't actually need that many characters to make a point. Renowned leaker Max Jambor, aka @MaxJmb, proved just that by using only 4 characters! (5, if you're considering the space)

On July 27, Max tweeted: “No 9T”. Those were the exact words. I probably wouldn't care if this tweet came from some other account ( ) but this is coming from Max, a user with an incredible track record in the OnePlus space. So while this still is a rumor, one that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, I can't help but believe that the 9T might have actually been axed (or it was never planned to begin with). In case you were hoping a Pro version would still show its face, Max was quick to clarify in a follow-up tweet that the 9T Pro isn't happening either.

I was shocked. OnePlus has had a glorious pasT with notable releases like the 3T, 5T, 7T, and the recent 8T, all great offerings as part of the bi-annual refresh cycle. So the thought that there won't be another T this year seemed unconvincing and the recent launch spree made the rumors even more unbelievable.

But then the same spree can also explain why the 9T might never get to see the light of day. Not just the smartphone market, but even OnePlus’ current lineup is saturated with options at varying price points. You can pick the latest and greatest OnePlus 9 Pro or opt for the toned-down OnePlus 9. If you don't mind missing out on the Hasselblad magic, there is even a 9R. And if you want to step down from the flagship podium, the newest addition to the OnePlus family – Nord 2 – might grab your attention.

Seeing how there are already some great options to choose from, the thought of there not being a 9T doesn't sound so surprising after all. But that's just how I see it. I'm sure you have a different opinion. Maybe you've been anxiously waiting for the newest T these past months? In that case, how would you feel if the rumors of the 9T being canceled are indeed true? And if there's no 9T, which phone would you opt for?

    Let us know ;)

    UPDATE: Twitter Tease!
    T or no T?

OnePlus from its official Twitter handle has posted a new tweet that suggests that the 9T might actually be happening. The tweet also includes a photo of what looks like an oversaturated OnePlus 9 in Arctic Blue with a caption, “The #OnePlus9 in tea”. However, they were cautious enough to not confirm the existence of a T by saying, “Don’t read too much into it”

As of now, the OnePlus 9T continues to be surrounded by an air of uncertainty. This thread will be updated as and when we hear more about the T!

Well well well, it seems that we won't get a OnePlus 9T, but a OnePlus 9 RT can be on the cards for October in China and India.

Please continue the discussion about that alleged model here - this thread is about all-things related to news and rumors about the OnePlus 9T.

    Thank you.

We saw the same thing being said four years ago ;) but it turned out differnet
maybe it will repeat itself again after 4 years.
Also there is only speculation that there is no T series(regular and pro), nothing about not launching a device ;)

Look what the cat dragged in  smh

Hey! Look who is back. WB boss.
To be honest, even if 9T shall be launched, I don't expect much improvement from OP9.
Records of 3T, 5T & 7T are all good but 8T didn't bring that improvement.
"T" =/= Refined version no longer exists. It doesn't hold good as S+1 ( even apple dropped the S series 😁)

Another version of Hasselblad is most awaited for the 10 series.

To be honest there is no need of 9T this year because 9 Pro is already there with great specs.
If by chance OnePlus launches 9T this year so OnePlus can't do much more in OP 10 series.

Seeing how your username is “Oneplus 9T” and not “OnePlus 9T” you look like an EVT prototype that didn't enter mass production :D
