    xer0w , Jun 2, 2018 :
I have an IPSec VPN setup on my home NAS which I connect to successfully on my OP6, but it disconnects after about a minute.
This isn’t an issue with my mobile data connection which is stable and fast (I test with okla speedtest)
I also have a OP5T and this doesn’t have the same issue, it stays connected consistently using exactly the same VPN settings
The 5T is running OOS v5.1.1 and the 6 v5.1.5

*Update October 2018. This issue has returned with V9 Pie. *

I have exactly the same issue with my op6 5.1.5 and using forticlient. I am disconnected just after the connection.

VPN, is not totally free in the first place.
(You download stuff with data=use own data, next you connected to VPN, you download= you using own data+VPN company also using their data as well.)
etc. You download 100mb thing via VPN(it's 100mb on you + VPN company 100mb=200mb total (you pay your 100mb while VPN company pays the other 100mb)
Lenient one will let u download stuff on them especially big company with hefty bandwidth. However Stricter one will dc you when u download things or bypass certain speed/limit impose (hidden from you/told you in their agreement)

    Same issue here.
I can connect the OP6 to my VPN server, but it disconnects within a minute or so.
Tested on both Unifi VPN on USG and Synology (2 different servers) and can confirm this behaviour.
Also tested a huawei P10 with the same android version and it does not have this issue.
Also iPhone 6 connects and stays connected.
So this is most certainly an OP6 issue.
    L2tp ipsec, OP6 android 8.1, oxygen 5.1.6.

It has nothing to do with paid or free vpn company by the way.
Funny thing is that my Bitdefender VPN does work, but I need to connect to my office network by VPN.

Oxygen 5.1.7 issue persists. Still l2tp IPsec vpn disconnects after 1 minute.
Advise from OP is to clear cache and if that doesn't help to factory reset. Didn't help here, still facing this bug.
    :(

    Hi,

I can also confirm 5.1.7 doesn't fix for me either, wasn't expecting it to tbh as it was mainly to address the Bootloader vuln.
Hopefully 5.1.8 will have a fix. OP are aware of this bug report btw.
I'm not going to factory reset as I'm sure this is an OOS bug from my testing, and a reset would be a waste of a lot of my time.

I can confirm the issue still exists in version 5.1.8. Tried both USG and Synology, disconnects after 1minute 34 seconds.

Same here. It works for about 90 seconds every time, then disconnects. Doesn't matter if the screen is on or off. OP6 latest update (Pie).

No resolution yet, I've been asked by support to run some tests and logs, but I don't have time to test something they must surely already know how to fix!
