    Hi @Martin Hotmann ,

I have a Global OnePlus One global model bought from India. Its running CM11S. I got OTA update for CM12S and I downloaded it. When I click install updates phone restarts and nothing happens.

Then I tried to enter the recovery mode and realized that the phone doesn't have one. So I tried your tool to install CWM recovery and it was not successful. Later I tried to unlock the bootloader even that was failure.

Can you please tell me what will be the issue and how can I install CM12 or other ROMS?

All of my scripts have one Requirement, it is a unlocked Bootloader, if your Bootloader is not unlocked my script cant do its job.

So what you have to do:

1.) find out if which Bit is set and which not.
2.) set the missing mit to true
    3.) start my script

    Best regards

Thanks for the reply @Martin Hotmann . I am confused about the bits you are referring to. Problem here is I cannot even unlock the bootloader. What I did is rebooted phone to fastboot mode by the command "adb reboot bootloader". Then ran "fastboot oem unlock". I didn't get the the unlock confirmation on phone screen.

Can you please tell me what is the next step? I am attaching the device info screenshot with it.

Ok nice to see the Problem ;)
So your Bootloader is not unlocked, but it tells it is! This is not good.
But I know a way ti fix this. This Problem appears if you have a Unlocked Bootlaoder and a Custom Recovery and are flashing the Stock recovery then and lock your Bootloader. Because locking the Bootloader while a Stock recovery is there is not reseting the "Device tampered" Bit.

    So what to do:

1.) Tell me which recovery you have
2.) Tell me if your System is rooted or not.

    Hi @Martin Hotmann,

Thats strange, I never used a custom recovery before and did'nt unlock the bootloader before. When I bought the device it was running CM11S. I am not sure about the Recovery beacuse I was never able to boot into recovery mode.

    To answe your questions

    1. Recovery it have now - I think It didn't have one. I was not able to open Recovery mode in anyways

    2. Device Rooted - No

    Ok, thats not good.

What you have to do is:

1.) try one of my Booters (Links in my Signature) and try if you can get temporary in a Custom Recovery
2.) why you dont know if it have a custom rcovery? boot up your System, go to "Developer Settings" then activate "Advanced reboot". and then make a longclick at your Powerbutton then "Reboot" and then "Reboot to Recovery"

if you can enter on one of these ways any Recvery let me know, if not it will be very dificult to solve.

    Hi @Martin Hotmann

I have tried Advanced Reboot option several times. Its just restarting phone and not entering the recovery mode. Thats how I came to the conclusion that my phone didn't have a recovery mode.

I hope the issue is clear to you now. Simply "No Recovery Mode and Unable to Unlock Bootloader"

If you have any idea to unlock bootloader or install recovery mode, please help me out.

Thanks @Gamm86 , The above XDA thread exactly defines my situation. No custom and stock recovery installed. Device Tampered bit set to TRUE and Unlocked set to FALSE.

I have tried running "fastboot boot recovery.img" (it was aCWM recovery image) in fastboot mode. But nothing happened. It just stayed on fastboot mode.

Now what to do? Any way to reset the flag or unlock the bootloader?

The answer to your question should be in the thread I already linked to.

After flashing the following file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2859187&d=1405749374 your bootloader should be unlocked.

    Check with the following command:
    fastboot oem device-info

You can now flash a custom recovery using fastboot and install whatever ROM you want using recovery.

I suggest you install the following recovery: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347792389

Sorry @Gamm86 , but If I want to flash the file you have mentioned, I need to be booted to recovery mode right? I cannot enter a recovery mode. I have tried entering recovery mode from fastboot boot recovery.img , but not working. Is there any other way to enter recovery/flash your zip?

You need to be in fastboot mode! Do you even know how to use fastboot?

    Hi @Gamm86 ,

    Sorry for the delayed response.

I know what a bootloader is and what I can do in bootloader. I have a Nexus 5. I have unlocked the bootloader of it and flashed android M on that.

As per this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/mod-reset-unlock-tamper-bit-t2820912 I tried to boot into a temporary reovery mode, but I got an error saying that device need to be unlocked to do it. Please see the attached image for both device-info and temporary recovery boot error.

Simple, your bootloader still isn't unlocked.

You need to use the following code first: "fastboot oem unlock"
Only then will you be able to install and/or use a custom recovery.

@Gamm86 , I think you didn't get the problem fully. The device tampered bit is set to true. So the "fastboot oem unlock" won't work.

Device is stock. never installed a custom recovery or custom rom. Not even rooted.

Hope now you got a clear picture of the issue.

Please check the attached image for "fastboot oem device-info"

@Gamm86 , Thanks for the fast reply.
But AFAIK, we need recovery mode or unlocked bootloader to root OPO, right?
If not please paste a link of doing the same.

@Gamm86 , Yes, I know that I need an unlocked bootloader to install custom recovery.
Please check the step 4 of your post. (4. run flashify). Flashify requires root access run correctly. Currently device is locked, have no recovery mode. Now how can I root the device to perform your steps? without root access your method cannot be executed.
