It's not oneplus releases. Official suggests from oneplus.
Like said above, your best bet is xda forum.

Unfortunately there aren't any custom ROMs yet on the one plus 7. There are lots for the 7 pro. All the Devs seem to have gone for the pro. Lineage has gone official for the pro model.

I'm still hoping that custom ROMs come out for the 7. it's very disappointing that no Devs have picked up the 7 model!

Just out of curiosity, why are you so intent on installing a custom ROM? What's wrong with Oxygen OS?

They offer a lot of different possibilities and things that the Oxygen OS doesn't (tho I love it too, it's imo the best and the fastest of the "default" ROMs), for example the Resurrection Remix, I used it on OnePlus 2 for 2 years and I loved it, it had everything that Oxygen OS offered, but much more customization possibilities and you can also choose your own google apps.

I have heard of this ROM a lot. Does it have AoD? And what do you mean by ability to choose Google apps?

I like Lineage OS. If the phone was old and has stopped receiving updates I would have gone with Lineage OS without a doubt. But at this moment I don't see why I should despite liking Lineage OS a lot.

I have to say it is completely shameful how there are no custom ROMs for the 7. one of the main reasons is that oneplus have not given any 7 devices to Devs on xda. I believe this is the first time oneplus have failed to do this. this makes a mockery of their recent announcement to encourage custom roms. if you don't hand out free devices to xda Devs, development will never start!!!!

Well not all devs get free phones. Some buy it and choose to support it if they like the device. The interest of 7 non pro is also seems rather low for many techier/dev people

That's not the reason at all as people who make custom ROMs can buy the phone still.

The 7 wasn't released everywhere and is less popular then the 7 pro. Both versions more then likely share the same software or close to it.

yep but the fact remains no phones to xda Devs has definitely helped stall the Dev community. the oneplus7 is also far more in the tradition of OnePlus ethos. also OnePlus not selling it in USA etc has screwed the xda community. there are a lot of frustrated owners out there. I even had the oneplus one. this is the first time in oneplus history that there has been zero custom ROMs.

So your saying that the reason for no custom ROMs is because devs are to cheap to go out but their own phones and expect free phones....
