Cyanogen OS 12.1 idle battery drain Sep 3, 2015

    Before the last update, my wife would disconnect my phone from charging at 2am. At 6am. still at 100%. Now, I disconnect at 6am. and at 6:30am. I loose 5%. Not good. Have no idea what the drain is except the update.

    I truly wish I was one of the lucky ones that have no problems, but that's not the case. I am not posting to blame, I am hoping for a resolution. I am a big fan of oneplus and cyanogen. If you have any advice that is useful, rather than calling me a troll (pot/kettle/??) Then I am all ears, because 3hrs on screen time is not good enough.

    RUNNING ON CM 11S. GREAT BATTERY LIFE. Drained only 1% overnight. Whereas on the Oxygen OS THE BATTERY USED TO DRAIN about 10%-20%.

    Hm. I do hate current smartphones' short battery life (my old Samsung Galaxy Nexus could be used about half a day only before needing a recharge), so I was "happy" that my OPO stood about 1–1½ days with CM12, and it charges quite fast.

    After using CM12.1 now for about 2–3 weeks, I must say it uses the battery a little more efficient. I just let it do the OTA upgrade, and use almost standard settings (nothing changed on all those battery settings) and it now holds out about 2 days. Which is an improvement, albeit a small one. (Same apps, same usage profile, same amount of Google Maps navigation.)

    I am cm12.1 snapshot and get a good battery life after so many days and months my opo lasted this long i got close to5:30h sot almost

    I search the forum and there is a lots of different explanations. I have CS 12.1 about one week and i'm seeing that my battery life is worse every day. First it was around 6h on wake screen now i have got only 4 . I tried to mess with privacy settings of gapps today and tomorrow i will write if helped or not. Also i reed that changing kernel is helping but i don't want to mess that much with my phone.

    Might be some sort of sleep issue, where the device is constantly awake, try wiping your app caches?

    I actually missed this post the first time I read through, but after 2 weeks of bad battery, I tried this last night and it seems to have worked. Screen drain when off much lower. Boot into recovery and wipe your cache. Thanks bie1305! I'll confirm final SOT when I get more results.

    Oh really? I don't think my battery went from new to old in five minutes. That's how long it took to update to 12.1, and that's how long it took the battery to go from .6%/hr. to 2.6%/hr in idle.

    I don't think someone asking for help with battery life is a troll. If yours if good I am happy for you. If your battery life went from great to poor, and the only thing you did was update to cm12.1, what would you blame?

    You're not listening. I did NOT have a problematic phone - it was darn near perfect! Fantastic battery life, and no other issues. All I did was update to 12.1. I DID a system reset - I wiped the cache. I did almost everything anyone suggested. So I am to blame - really?

    Although I am not experiencing any big change in battery consumption with Cynogen 12.1, but after the latest update my phone lock stopped working.

    I tried all the way keep it working but I failed. Can anybody help me to let the Phone Lock function working..?

    I installed Google Play Services 8.1.13 (2234497-238), and that really improved my battery life. I am now down to 1.1%/hr on idle. That is getting close to what I had before the 12.1 update. Things are looking much better now...
