My LG Tone will connect. However!! Everytime when I made phone call, it would connect for about 5 min and then went to silent. I have to switch to speaker to continue conversation. While in the middle of conversation, I can switch it back to my BT for about 5 more mins and then went back to speaker. Initially, I thought was the other end's problem, but it has occurred so many times with different callers. I am really frustrated. In addition, BT is not working with my WeChat app. I have to disable the phone connection from BT setting and keep the media connection, then it will works for WeChat.
    How annoying!

it's not the "car", it may be that OnePlus choose to take a chipset that do Bluetooth 4.1 SMART only, and then not compatible with previous Bluetooth implementation (aka 3.0 and earlier). It is opposed to SMART READY chips that keep the back compatibility ... It's a very silly move by OnePlus, many cars are still on 3.0 implementation and are not BLE (aka > 4.0 Bluetooth ).

seems like I'm not the only one :) I've paired my OPO with carminat tomtom (renault car)... and I've noticed my phone is kind of re-connecting every 5min with my radio (muting the radio and highlighting the phone display)

I find that hard to believe. I have a four year old clarion cx609 Bluetooth 2.0 that works for calls, music, and phonebook while being connected to a smart watch with no issues. Music stops and resumes when I receive or make a call. It also works with the four Bluetooth speakers I own some are also version 2.0 and 3.0. I'm on R44.

So, is there any options to fix this issue with the car's Bluetooth? A patch or app?

I received my OPO last week. Great phone largely! I am facing two problems. Bluetooth has a hard time finding my cars bluetooth, and when it connects there is no pairing happening. Second issue is about downloads being slow. Although I have a stable 16mbps broadband, OPO somehow does not download the apps fast enough. If I try and download multiple apps, it just never happens.

Had similar issue. It was the car/me. Car stereo has "source" button and didn't realise that I had to toggle through it to connect the media BT stream from the OPO even though was on normal BT already for calls.
Lesson learned is that it is usually human error or you just need to press more buttons - tricky part is to know which buttons.

I had a problem when I got my phone as well. Eventually I figured out that I needed to reset user data on my car, which basically wipes all existing connections out. Then I could connect with my One Plus One and everything seems to be working. Might try checking to see if your car has this capability.
