Grarak just mentioned that he will take a break on developing op2... he will be working on his own app and after which he will again continue the rom development

Cyanogen Inc produced the CyanogenOS on the OPO, it's a corporation with employees that work to build that ROM. Also contracts and support time, etc.

Cyanogen mod, is made by community users (anyone can join in). Also..usually means more bugs as the roms were not developed from scratch specifically for that device.

The irony, is that the community build CM will probably have more quality and less bugs than the customized Oxygen which is crap and full of bugs

The github was Grarak's builds so I'm not sure who these mystery others are (yes I'm cynical so I'm looking forward to being wrong on this).

I am very cynical since the majority of op2 roms are based on Grarak's original work (besides mokee?) so I think 13 without him will be a struggle.

Grarak is clearly very talented but as an observation he's over worked and stressed, and reacts strongly to any kind of criticism and struggles with enquiries from those who aren't as knowledgeable as himself.

I posted a thread to encourage multirom twrp development for the op2, and he launched into me regarding how multirom is all about the kernel and nothing to do with the recovery being used. Fair play he's correct, but at the level of operation for most users, this is still how I'm familiar and capable with TWRP, for example on my OPO.

I'm saddened that devs who are doing such great work get so easily frustrated, and assume that people are against then, when they really aren't.

that's true. It does become frustrating. There should certainly be more developers on this so the loss of one person is not felt as much.
