Back at the beginning before i had updated to the first of the few nougat updates the dash charge stopped working it would still charge my phone but as dash charge. So i bought a new dash charge adapter and cable but it would still not work so i plan to replace the charging port inside the phone but i was wondering if there is any way of fixing it with out going through the hassle of opening up the phone.

    Help!!

Do a factory reset after backing up important data and then check.

U can always back them up.
If it's game/ app data then u have to have root privileges to backup.
If it's just music/photos etc then no need to root.

Ps- or as @jkb114 said in his post u can contact OP support to resolve ur issue.

Have you checked for debris in the charging port?

Pocket lint and other small bits of debris can get packed in the port over time.

If you have debris in the port the cable can't be inserted all the way and you won't get dash charge.

This way you are not replacing anything on your phone. The original recovery is not replaced by TWRP ... the phone is only booted (using your PC) to TWRP so you can do backup and upon reboot it will boot normally and next time when you reboot to recovery you will find yourself in the original recovery. That's why I said it will not flash it, it will only boot it. So, if done properly you won't loose the ability to receive OTA updates. I used it this way to make back up without replacing original recovery. But truth is, one has to understand what he/she is doing.

However, there are other ways to make backups (using applications) or other methods ... just search the forum. Best of luck.

As said above there is another issue that means that for some reason the computer and laptop will not recognise the phone and the phone doesn't have a notification once plugged in to ask if it wants to charge or transfer media.

The only possible fix is :-

Warning: Performing below steps will delete
    everything in your device.
Please proceed at your own risk.
I will not be responsible for any
    loss occurred.

I highly recommend to backup all your useful data before proceeding with below steps.

    1. Wipe System
    2. Wipe Data
    3. Wipe Cache
    4. Re-Flash OTA update 4.0.2

I did the the same in my device and the problem solved forever.

Understand. Another way is to use WiFi file transfer between your PC and phone. You will need application. Here is some article about it:

    Good luck!
