I doubt it. I think it would be heavily ineffective and consume a lot more power to this with software than with a dedicated MEMC ship. It's a noticable drain with the chip... Imaging the drain without it.
Was it a question or a statement?

Display of OnePlus is one of the best in the business. Camera is what it matters. I don't think there is enough difference in daily use for 90 Hz & 120 Hz display.

A+ in display mate tells a story though.

Some articles and reviews said that apparently the S20 Ultra had the same problem, but was fixed with Samsung rolling out a software update for the issue. Probably OnePlus will do the same with upcoming OTA updates.

I would still like to set my OnePlus 8 pro to 90hz give us that option pls. I think it would be a great compromise between battery and refresh. it would also make 1440p more viable.

Hi there, I'm an old old developer at XDA developer, been cocking ROM's since 2003, started really serious when windows mobile came in 2005. Then made my way to Android development in Android 0.8 beta.

Been implementing my tweaks to screen and battery life on almost every phone they're was in the beginning.

JUST GOT MYSELF AN ONEPLUS 8 PRO ULTRA NICE MARINE BLUE! LOVING IT SO FAR, ESPECIALLY THE SCREEN, WOW ❤️

THE NEW 10-bit color depth, 4096 levels of automatic brightness adjustment is ONE OF THE GREATEST features.

But, yes here it comes 🤪 -the one thing lacking is an advanced option for auto brightness, so you can set the minimum brightness level yourself also the max.

FOR ME WITH AN ILLNESS THAT AFFECTS DARK VISION, I can't read anything when it's dark in the room, EVERY, AND I MEAN EVERYTIME I HAVE TO PULL DOWN THE NOTIFICATION BAR, AND YES THAT'S TWO PILLS TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE BRIGHTNESS BAR, AND THEN CHANGE IT.

This is EXTREMELY annoying and also takes time.

SO PLEASE, I BEEN YOU TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION TO ADD -ADVANCED AUTO BRIGHTNESS LEVELS.

/THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, AND ALSO THE BEST PHONE EVER MADE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
