I dunno if Samsung will share the punch hole tech, if they do then they already have something new for next year.
They only share when they are about to move on themselves.

well that's what the regular OnePlus 8 or 8 lite will be hopefully, cheap/affordable.

the only thing i was kinda expecting is an under display front camera.

the only thing I'm looking forward to

The underscreen camera still looks a ways off. With the punch hole design becoming more popular there is no point sending it to market until it is 100%, unless someone wants to take the risk.
The grapevine says I will debut on a budget phone first, Samsung have been very quiet of late on this and could spring a surprise.

The 8 is going to hit £600 in the UK unless OP hold the price or do another 6T/7.
The lite, it will be interesting to see how much it costs as there is not much they can remove.

I've really missed OnePlus for last year and it will be time again to go for it. After all these phones I've tested in past year, I always turned back to how much I miss OP!

I couldn't agree more. This year 120Hz, then next year 150Hz, then 2022 a 180Hz ??? How much and how much wider color spectrum can human eyes actually be able to see?? I have a 90Hz OP7 Pro and doubt any higher Hz would make a significant difference which would cost the consumer more money. Just put a 4,500 battery in a 90Hz flat screen display phone for less than $700 USA dollars and everyone would be happier.

well that's thing for geeks only!! it's a little over the edge.. 90hz is like more then enough.. Almost all of games still stuck with 60fps nd 40fps only!! content availability is a thing too!! even 60hz content is hard to find.. okey you are adding that hardware acceleration to add frame like picture engines in top tier tv.. but think of a thing.. it ll be beneficial to 90hz too and now going on our eyes, i m sure only a very few people can tell difference in 90 nd 120hz just by looking and that's too hardware optimized.. sry but you can't tell difference at all.. so 120hz is overkill.. may be we use it 5 years later when Qualcomm develops enough powerful processor so that 120hz games can be played flawlessly.. till then 90 hz is fine by most of people.. don't get me wrong at all!! what you did is really great!! i appreciate it!! i m sure it ll have a hand in building nd improving future smartphones.. keep going!!

I'm surprised there wasn't an acronym for
    '120 Hz Fluid display' .

When will we get a sample viewing of the new display , Since the cats out of the bag ?

Keep the pop-up camera on the 8 Pro and I MIGHT consider upgrading my recently purchased 7 Pro. I have a real soft spot for screen tech, especially if it improves visual aesthetics. But that all gets thrown out the window if there is a punch hole in the screen. You will never feel immersed watching anything if there's a hole in the screen.
