At least they admit they are not able to handle the software part.. Still, they should hire more people to work on the development of the software, not just hardware

Well OP phones have always been geared towards open source use, so this is a natural progression from the OPO and when it had CM, this way there will be lots of options for OP users to play with, especially with that 6gb ram beast. It would be a shame if software dev was left entirely in the hands of OP as they're not quite there yet.

Similar situation with my Dad, but I'm trying to convince him to buy my OnePlus 2 so I can afford buy the OnePlus 3. Then again, I'm not sure if I'm ready to mess around with developing - I want to try it but I'm a little afraid ◴_◶

Genie? Sorry I don't grant wishes;)
I've been here all night looking at the pro's and cons.
That's fact all the goodies have been released means the OP3 is the OP2 with new a pair of pants and a bigger bra.
The device looks a little bland to say the least and i am not a fan of the chins, the raised screen from the frame or the FP on the front. Tbh there is really not a lot that make me want to part with 300 notes at the moment
I will wait just to see if they have revised FP set up or not, that will be apparent soon enough.
I can hear the famous words already " it's software"

Can the devs add a notifation badge on the app icons which are on the home screen?Without it , the device feels primitive :(
Don't want to use a seperate launcher for that

That's the best news about the OP3 launch!
This will definitely make me consider upgrading to a OP3 when custom ROMs drop.

It's a shame you didn't do this for the Two when it was released, so the community didn't lose so many developers
