    Asri Ameen, Nov 16, 2017 :
    Hi guys,

When i try to charge my oneplus 3T. it's showing an error message saying "Device Temperature Is Too Low, Cannot Charge" and the battery percentage remains at 50% until the battery drains.

Could you please suggest a solution for this issue?? Is it a software or hardware problem??

Awaiting for a solution for this.

    Thank you in advance.

Have you tried wiping cache from recovery or a factory reset? If that doesn't fix it, maybe it's a hardware issue and you should contact the customer center

Switch it off and put it to charge for 2-3 hours straight..don't disconnect it. It will get back to normal. You can also do a clean up of cache via recovery.

    Hi,

So I had this issue with my OP3 after replacing the battery. After a bit of investigation I've discovered that the temperature sensor is located in the battery (top edge). The phone communicates to it over a protocol called i2c, the middle two connections on the battery are SDA and SCL.
So, in my instance the cheapo Chinese battery has a defective sensor, when I replaced it with one I purchased from the UK for ~£16 all is OK. I didn't need to wipe the cache or reset the phone.
I saw exact the same symptoms that you are describing with the error message and the battery percentage stuck at 50% even when I left the Chinese battery on charge overnight.
Bear in mind that the phone will not attempt to charge the battery if it suspects low temperature... extract from tech pub on lithium batteries (no charging is permitted at freezing temperatures because of the reduced diffusion rates on the anode).

    HTH,
    Dave (Electronics Engineer).

I have the same problem with my oneplus 3t, but when I wiped my cache it did not affect the issue. Is there any way I can fix the problem?

Im as well facing the same issue, have tried to reset the phone (one plus 3) and still its stuck at 50% charging and showing the message "device is at low temperature".
With the charger plugged in the phone does turn on and in Debugging mode, it does show the tempature at -40 degree where in i stay in a tropical place (@30 Degree) and still shows -40. So please do let me know if there is any solution for this.
    Thank you in advance

I just had the same issue on my Oneplus 3 after replacing the entire frame, thought i broke the battery temp sensor or something, because it still worked with the power it had.

Turned out i misseated the battery connector, it works perfeclty fine now.
