This must be done through the apps themselves if they give you the option to do so, not through phone settings.

What if the app doesn't let you choose the sound? Most of the apps don't anyway

Then it will use the single default notification sound, set in the phone settings...

Yes, and the point of those answering...you can't.

If the app allows a custom sound, great.

If not, you just get the system default.

    I'm previously using Lenovo Vibe.
In which I've an option to make the different sound levels for call and notifications.

Do we have any option like that in OP6?

Like Ringtone Level will be high and Notification Ringer level will be low or medium.

If not is there any way to reduce only the notification tone while having the louder ringer volume

I was able to assign different sounds to all my apps until this last Oxygen update. I use Google Voice as my texting app (which cannot be assigned as the default texting app) and I had it on its own sound for the longest time, but then about a week ago it lost that ability and now every app on my phone has the exact same notification sound. It's quite annoying. I like being able to hear a sound and know what app it's coming from. Please revert to have this ability again OnePlus!

I'm on Beta 7, and it's still there. Just go to the app settings.

If you're on Beta, there was.

To the OP, see screenshots below.

Okay, so I don't know if you ever figured out how to do this, since I saw all the other comments being very unhelpful. You can set Individual Notification sounds by doing the following steps:

    Got to Settings>Apps&Notifications>Notifications

After you get to this point click on the bottom button under "Recently Sent", it will say "See all from last 7 days", then you just select the app you want to get direct Notifications for and make sure it is set to make a sound. Once it's set to make a sound it will give you the option to select a sound, otherwise, it will not display the option for what sound you want.

I really hope this helps you out and many others!

Can I just thank you for possibly the most helpful post I've ever seen on this forum?

I'm using a Mii A1 by the way, but I had no idea this was even configurable. I suppose I now need to download some appropriate notification sounds for the 93 apps which currently just fart at me with the same tone.
