The screen is dimming to zero brightness frequently without even changing the brightness .
After using the phone for 10 sec then the normal brightness returns ( Iam not using auto brightness)
This occurs usually 2 to 3 times per day and it's very frightening experience to see a 3 month old phone behaving like that that too a flagship please resolve this issue as soon as possible.
    Thank you

I am also facing this issue while I turn down the auto brightness, despite setting the brightness to full the screen remains at low brightness you can't seen anything while you are outdoors.

Modern Smartphones comes with something call proximity sensor & ambient light sensor.

These two are used to detect if phone is within pocket or if ambient light source is low.

Software will now automatically close the display, turn off touch (if in pocket), or lastly dim the display.

All these are located right at the edges of the top corner. Now if by chance you have an oddly fitting aftermarket case or display protector, or even build up of dust/grimes, it may hamper the operation of the sensors or software may assume those display dimming parameters are met.

So if you are using any after market casing, screen protector, try to check by removing those & give your display / front side a good cleaning too, specially the top front edges of the phone.

Lastly, there is always the ultimate option to factory reset the device. Check with a clean setup, since of its a software error, it will go away. Beware, factory reset will delete all data so backup.
