    Hi to everyone,

Since upgrading to A10, I'm having an issue with the Direct Dial widget on my OP6T, meaning whenever I press on it, I get a watermark notification towards the bottom of the screen that says "Permission denied".

Has anyone experienced this problem ? It occurs only in Nova Launcher. In OP launcher it works just fine.

    Cheers from Transylvania

This is happening to me also. It used to work on Pie.

I tried reaching out to Nova via email and Discord but I haven't received any advice. :-/

Yup, I wrote to Nova as well, but no answer. It's been more than a week now and they haven't replied. I even took to Reddit (r/NovaLauncher), but nothing.

Yes, today I've came across the same issue. Quite annoying. You think I should contact Nova?

I'm not so sure about this being a OnePlus issue, since it works well if OnePlus Launcher is the default launcher. The issue happens only in Nova. So I guess Nova should address this problem.

Nova has this message upon launching the Nova settings app. Read through it!

I am having the same issue (OP6t) and I think it is because I have a prefix in front of the number (a + and country code.) Contacts that do not have the + work properly.

This seems to be an issue with the Oneplus contacts app in Android 10. You can go to the play store and install the official Google contacts app - that should then give you direct-dial options in the widgets or the shortcuts section of 'gesture and inputs' in the Nova launcher. While you can continue to use the Oneplus Contacts app, you can use the google one just for the direct dial. Using Nova you can also hide the Google contacts app in the app drawer if you want to.

Confirmed. By downloading Google Contact, I was able to get Direct Dial widgets to work. This'll be acceptable until someone determines if it's an Android 10 or Nova Launcher problem and issues a fix. Thanks for the heads-up.

Hi, I have the same issue, I mailed Nova developers and they confirmed what you say, that it must work with Google Contacts. I installed it, but direct dial with gestures still doesn't work. I assume only the widget works, right?

Hi, just bought my OP 7T and am having this issue also. I have installed the Google contacts, but my very many 😕 direct dial widgets still are getting the "permission denied" error.
What am I missing / has anyone heard of a fix from either Nova or OP?

You may need to contact Nova developers on this, there is an incompatibility between Nova Launcher and Android 10.

However this is mentioned on XDA as a workaround.
